Feel: Both the Pro V1 and Pro V1x offer a soft feel around the greens, which is highly desirable for many players. However, some players may find that the Pro V1x feels slightly firmer off the clubface compared to the Pro V1. This is a personal preference and may vary from player to player.
Expand. “Before the 2017 Pro V1 came out, it really did spin less than the Pro V1x with irons. Maybe it spun a little more off the tee. But the new process in the 2017 Pro V1 really lowered that driver spin and increased speed to where throughout the bag, the Pro V1 spun less than the Pro V1x. It’s not entirely true.
The Pro V1 and Pro V1x golf balls have a great feel so they can be played by golfers at any level. High handicappers might want to choose a more affordable ball. At $50 per dozen – over $4 per ball – it stings a little more when you skull a ball into the water or shank a tee shot into the woods. Advertisement.
The results showed that the Pro V1 delivers lower long game spin than the Pro V1x. Like the ball speed test, the difference was minimal off the tee, with the classic Pro V bagging the title by 40 rpm. Furthermore, the Pro V1 overshadowed its relative with an iron in hand, producing over 500 rpm more spin than the x.
It is better than the Pro V1x, which is more focused on lengthy distances. Sadly, the Pro V1 price drains my budget: the same as the Pro V1x. But I love both of them. In this regard, many golfers asked if there are Pro V1 alternatives. There are plenty, I supposed. Sometimes these alternatives have similar or even better qualities than the Pro V1.
"Titleist Pro V1x 2018 Left Dash Pristine Quality delivers a different combination of performance characteristics than Pro V1 and Pro V1x and allows players to fine-tune their flight, feel and spin. Designed for players seeking a high flight similar to Pro V1x with dramatically lower full swing spin and firmer feel."
Those are 4 relatively different balls and depends on your needs. TP5 and ProV1 will be most similar but TP5X will be lowest spin and ProV1X will be highest spin. Plus there's your subjective needs and feel. Buy a sleeve of each and test and pick which one works best for you. Tbillings02 • 2 yr. ago.
Tom says: "Pro V1x left dash will fly similarly to Pro V1x, so it's high in flight higher than Pro V1. It's firmer than Pro V1x, so it's quite clicky with the shorter shots and with the longer shots, but it's lower in spin when you're playing shorter shots with the scoring clubs. "From a spin point of view, it sits between Pro V1 and AVX."
